Tanya Olivarria was born and raised in Los Angeles. She studied at La Sierra University in Riverside, CA where she earned a B.A. and teaching credential in Spanish. She lived abroad in Argentina for a school year and just got back from teaching 6 years on the border of Mexico and California in a little town called Calexico. 

She met her husband of 20 years in college and they have 3 children : 19 years old, 16 years old, and 5 years ago adopted a beautiful baby girl!  She enjoys traveling all over the world with her family. 

Tanya has been a teacher for 15 years, teaching a variety of subjects and age groups including high school Spanish, elementary school teacher, and EFL teacher - but teaching Spanish is her favorite!
