From an early age, Dana knew she was destined for teaching. Whether helping her mother set up her classroom or playing school with her stuffed animals, the desire to be in a classroom has been a constant. As an educator, she believes that students learn best in an environment where students feel valued in being their full selves and can make mistakes without concern. Through building a community of care, students can discover their passions and build their knowledge with confidence. Dana takes a small group approach to instruction, meeting students where they are to help them grow exactly where they are. Through peer modeling and conversation, students take ownership of their education with the teacher as guide. Along with academics, Dana believes in the power of life skills and social-emotional growth, empowering students to do good in the world with the knowledge they have learned.

When not at work, Dana loves spending time with her family in nature. Additionally, she has a passion for photography and travel. She loves noticing the small things around her that makes life beautiful.
